Becoming Present Meditation Retreats

A chance to slow down and practice becoming present together.

January gathering

What does it mean when we say we feel off, or not quite in tune with ourselves?

And how do we come back to centre and feel like ourselves again?

During this day retreat, you’ll learn about, and experience, coming back to, and finding, your centre through the Becoming Present meditation practice.

I have developed this practice over more than 25 years of personal practice, and refined it through hundreds of group sessions.

Through gentle teachings, guided prompts, facilitated discussion, and time for personal reflection, you’ll explore what it feels like to find your breath, soften the body, orient toward love and kindness, and sense a flow of vitality within and around you.

Gathering as a group and practicing together can be deeply nourishing. It often helps us remember that we aren’t alone, and that much of what we struggle with is shared by others.

We’ll have time to talk about the idea of “not meditating right”, and explore how we might hold ourselves in a slightly more loving and compassionate way.

In the afternoon we have a very special treat, as pianist Ron Greidanus will play a solo piano arrangement of Ola Gjeilo’s piece Northern Lights.

I’ll accompany the music with a light guided meditation, inviting us to open to the essence of the sound, a piece that quietly whispers, “You are wholly loved, dear one. Nothing in you is lacking.

The retreat is held in a beautiful century home overlooking a wooded ravine in downtown Georgetown. We’ll share a cozy catered lunch and lovely tea breaks together.

I’m so looking forward to this day, and truly hope you’ll join me.
